For years, music has accompanied man in work, play and prayer. Its role has changed over the centuries, but its presence in the church has been constant. Since as early as the fifth century, the themes of Lent have inspired composers to create works related to Christ's suffering. His passion and death are also an inspiration for contemporary artists who, in a hectic world, provoke with their works a reflection on the meaning of human existence and touch on such problems as death and suffering or loneliness and love. Passion songs often appear in choirs' repertoires and concert programmes.
We hope that participation in our festival will provide you with an emotional experience, allow you to "stop in time", deepen your faith and trust in God and the other person.

Fundacja morze Kultury
The event is organised by Fundacja Morze Kultury (transl. Sea of Culture Foundation) which was established in Szczecin in 2014. According to its statute, it carries out activities in the sphere of art, music and the protection of cultural goods and national heritage, among others. It pursues its objectives by organising all kinds of cultural events: concerts, festivals, youth exchanges, fairs, exhibitions, workshops and training courses at home and abroad. People who have been involved with the foundation for many years organise cultural events in Szczecin, the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland and also abroad. Among the greatest successes is the cyclical organisation of the International Sacred and Passion Music Festival Szczecin (since 2014).
To date, more than 200 choirs have taken part in all festivals organised by the foundation, meaning that Szczecin has been visited by more than 5,000 choristers from Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Belarus or Moldova. Several hundred performances have been organised since 2014, including at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Hall, St James’ Cathedral in Szczecin and in surrounding towns in Poland and Germany. The foundation’s other projects were also very successful: The International Music Contest for Seniors, the Szczecin 50+ Fair or the Sedina Cantat Festival.
We are proud of the fact that, due to the attractiveness and professionalism of the projects, participants return to Szczecin, even from as far away as Poland, to take part in further projects organised by the Foundation.

Ladies and Gentlemen
once again I have the pleasure and honour to invite you to take part in the International Sacred and Passion Music Festival, a cyclical international project which will take place for the eleventh time in the capital of West Pomerania.
Each edition of the project is exceptional and unique, experienced in a special way by all lovers of sacred music. The ever-expanding range of experiences within the Sacred and Passion Music Festival ensures a high attendance every year.
For many years now, the organisers have succeeded in creating a friendly space for choir lovers to exchange experiences, as well as ensuring the participation of world-class musicians. Since 2014, a total of around 180 choirs from Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Moldova, Spain, Italy and other countries have performed at the festival, and almost 5,000 people have taken part - quite an achievement.
I would like to thank all those responsible for the preparation of the 10th edition of the International Festival of Sacred and Passion Music for their commitment to artistic activities,
which will certainly bring satisfaction to all, and many artistic and spiritual experiences to the festival audience.Piotr Krzystek
